Job description

Regional Admissions Director

THRYVE Healthcare is seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Admissions Director to oversee and optimize admissions, referral development, and census growth across multiple skilled nursing facilities within an assigned region. This leadership role partners closely with facility Administrators, Admissions Directors, hospital partners, and corporate leadership to maximize occupancy, strengthen referral relationships, and ensure efficient, compliant admissions processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership and oversight of Admissions and Intake teams across multiple THRYVE Healthcare facilities.

  • Drive census growth by developing and strengthening relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, managed care organizations, and other referral sources.

  • Monitor daily admissions activity, referral pipelines, bed availability, and conversion metrics across the region.

  • Develop and implement regional admissions strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue goals.

  • Ensure timely review and processing of referrals, insurance authorizations, financial approvals, and admission documentation.

  • Partner with Administrators, Nursing, MDS, Therapy, Social Services, and Business Office teams to ensure smooth resident admissions and transitions of care.

  • Coach, mentor, and support facility Admissions Directors and Admissions Coordinators to improve performance and admissions outcomes.

  • Establish and maintain standardized admissions workflows and best practices across all assigned facilities.

  • Analyze admissions, referral, and census data while providing regular performance reports and recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Identify market opportunities and implement strategies to improve referral conversion and competitive positioning.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, payer, and company admissions policies and procedures.

  • Assist facilities during surveys, audits, and census-related initiatives.

  • Travel regularly between assigned THRYVE Healthcare facilities to provide operational support and leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

  • Three or more years of admissions, intake, business development, or census development experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), long-term care (LTC), or post-acute healthcare setting required.

  • Regional or multi-facility leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of hospital referrals, managed care authorizations, Medicare, Medicaid, and admissions workflows.

  • Proven success in increasing census and developing referral relationships.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple facilities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems, admissions software, and Microsoft Office.

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively between THRYVE Healthcare facilities as needed.
