Job description

For over 70 years, Myers Power Products has delivered reliable, innovative power distribution solutions to the energy sector. We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to support our California operations. This non-supervisory role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services to meet production needs while maintaining quality and cost standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure materials and components are available to meet production schedules.

· Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for price, quality, and delivery.

· Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.

· Resolve issues related to supplier performance, delivery, or quality.

· Collaborate with engineering, production, and inventory control to forecast material needs.

· Monitor inventory levels and assist in cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

· Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain preferred.
