POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a purchasing agent, one will be responsible for preparing and issuing purchase orders, reviewing and negotiating contracts, planning, organizing, and controlling activities related to the procurement process. One should be an experienced negotiator with vendors and understand the basic principles of inventory management. This position will support management at multiple locations in setting and meeting its goals for proper stocking levels at their branch, moving slow-moving items, and allocating the company inventory resources to maximize profit (i.e. forecasting). One will be responsible for managing (i.e. monitoring and controlling) all product inventory levels to assure we do not stock out and our freight and warehousing costs are minimized. Additionally, as a purchasing agent, one will effectively communicate with branch locations and be able to handle a variety and a volume of activity in an organized and efficient manner. One must also have a great work ethic and be able to function at a high level during peak demand as one will be responsible for all purchase orders and purchase order management. Professionalism, job ownership, and enthusiasm are a must.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • No experience necessary
