If we have your attention, please continue reading! Position SummaryThe Purchasing Assistant supports the Purchasing Agents in maintaining accurate and up-to-date item andinventory records across all Ring's End systems. This role assists with managing item setup, pricing updates,MAP programs, discontinued SKUs, and data integrity within GenetiQ. The Purchasing Assistant collaboratesclosely with the e-commerce team to ensure products are represented correctly and consistently online,including descriptions, images, and digital merchandising standards. In partnership with the HardlinesPurchasing Agent, this role helps implement and monitor inventory cycle counts and contributes tomaintaining balanced stock levels across locations. The Purchasing Assistant also plays an active role incoordinating cohesive hardlines merchandising company-wide, supporting visual standards, productplacement, and overall presentation to strengthen customer experiences. Position RequirementsThe incumbent must be flexible and adaptable to the changes rapidly affecting the position. The incumbentmust be thorough, accurate, and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain precise item andinventory records across all systems. Must be capable of learning and effectively using Microsoft products,the current POS and inventory management software utilized by Ring's End, as well as adapting to futureplatforms as they are introduced. Regular travel to all Ring's End locations is required to supportmerchandising, inventory cycle counts, and purchasing initiatives. The incumbent must be flexible, adaptable,and able to adjust quickly to changes that impact this position, including system updates, product transitions,and evolving merchandising standards. Key responsibilities• Price updates - Implement cost and retail price changes in current POS/inventory software andfuture systems• MAP/PMAP maintenance - Review and maintain MAP and PMAP pricing per manufacturerprograms• Item setup - Add new items into the POS system and oversee discontinued item records• Item organization - Review and maintain items in correct groups and sections• Alternate codes - Maintain alternate item codes and keywords• E-commerce accuracy - Work with the e-commerce team to ensure accuracy of productrepresentation• Min/Max adjustments - Adjust and monitor minimum/maximum inventory ranges• Cycle counts - Maintain cycle count records• Inventory counts - Assist in planning and executing coordinated inventory counts• Promotional suggestions - Suggest promotional items for monthly flyers and promotional postcards• Merchandising schemes - Plan and implement coordinated merchandising schemes in all locationsfor hardlines• Resets & programs - Assist in resets, new product programs, and vendor promotions at all locations• Vendor events - Assist with location vendor events such as demos and tabletop promotions• Endcap planning - Plan endcap displays for all yard locations• Sales aids - Assist in producing sales aids• Additional tasks - Other related tasks as assigned by manager So, now that you've learned the who, what, where, and why, you may be wondering HOW?
