POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing integrated project schedules across multiple skilled trades projects and business units. This role provides centralized scheduling expertise to support project execution, workforce planning, and resource optimization. The Corporate Scheduler partners closely with Operations, Project Management, Superintendents, and Estimating to ensure schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with company capacity, safety, and contractual requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Scheduling & Controls

  • Develop and maintain detailed, logic-driven project schedules for skilled trades projects (mechanical, piping, industrial, etc.).

  • Establish baseline schedules and track progress against milestones.

  • Analyze schedule impacts, delays, and recovery plans and communicate findings to leadership.

Resource & Workforce Planning

  • Support manpower forecasting and leveling across multiple projects.

  • Identify scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints and recommend solutions.

Cross-Project Integration

  • Develop integrated master schedules to support multi-project and recurring work programs.

  • Align long-lead material deliveries, fabrication timelines, and subcontractor schedules.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and present schedule updates, dashboards, and look-ahead reports to project teams and leadership.

  • Communicate schedule risks, assumptions, and mitigation strategies clearly.

  • Support client schedule reviews and coordination meetings as needed.

Process Improvement & Standards

  • Establish standardized scheduling templates, procedures, and best practices.

  • Implement scheduling tools and systems to improve consistency and accuracy.

  • Train project teams and field leadership on schedule inputs, updates, and accountability.

Risk Management & Change Control

  • Evaluate schedule impacts related to change orders, scope adjustments, and unforeseen conditions.

  • Maintain schedule change logs and ensure approved changes are reflected accurately.

  • Support claims analysis related to delays when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • 3–7+ years of scheduling or project controls experience in skilled trades or construction environments.

  • Experience supporting multi-project portfolios and complex schedules.

  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, labor productivity, and field operations.

  • Experience with ERP or project management systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain logic-driven, resource-loaded project schedules.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex schedule data for field and leadership audiences.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with periodic visits to active project sites. Site visits may involve exposure to construction conditions including uneven terrain, elevated noise levels, and varying weather. The role requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods and travel to project sites as needed.
