Job Description:
Summary:
  • This role will be located onsite at the construction project site located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
  • Collects and analyzes information used to plan and schedule construction projects, specifically, the $1.8B New Lock at the Soo Project for the US Army Corps of Engineers located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. (projected to complete in Year 2029)
  • Generates forecasts, variance reports, and other documentations used to monitor and manage project construction schedules.
  • Integrate best practices and project deliverables while interfacing with the Project Team, Project Managers, Subcontractors, Design Engineers to monitor and update the project schedule and resources.
  • The onsite project office trailer is modern - climate controlled, LED lighting, restroom facilities, Wi-Fi/network access, I.T. Equipment, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team of schedulers to create the baseline schedules for newly awarded contract options and maintain the working schedule as reported out weekly and monthly in the Owner/Contractor/LLC (stakeholder) meetings.
  • Responsible to ensure that the project schedule updates and reports conform to the contract specifications and are prepared for formal submittal to the Government.
  • Responsible to create and maintain a comprehensive schedule narrative with each formal update.
  • Responsible for preparing all the project progress reports, integrating subcontractor look ahead schedules into the master schedule, revising logic sequence as required.
  • Reviewing contractor project schedules for accuracy and logic and analyzing critical path updates, schedule progress vs what is occurring in the field, and evaluating schedule options - then communicating schedule status to the Project Manager, client, consultants, and others.
  • Reporting schedule status to all stakeholders on a weekly / monthly basis.
  • Facilitate monthly schedule reviews with the Government.
  • Assist the Project Team in maintaining, updating and monitoring the CPM schedule.
  • Maintaining project schedule(s) and alerting the project team to potential problem areas.
  • Performing Time Impact Analysis (TIA).
  • Various reports could include:
    • Progress charts
    • Work intensity curves
    • Labor-production work rate tables
    • Time impact analyses
    • Equipment delivery schedules
    • Resource-cost loaded schedules
    • Daily construction activities report schedules
  • Instruct and coach subordinate schedulers in scheduling best practices and assign tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration preferred or experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ideal candidates will possess 8+ years of experience in Project Scheduling, preferably in heavy civil and heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Oracle Primavera Cloud.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience developing project schedules and performing critical path, earned value, and schedule impact analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to work in concert with project team, subcontractors, engineers, and customer.
  • Project Site Access requires a Federal Background Check
