What you'll need to succeed as a Project Manager, Operations at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical, operations management or business fields or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1 year of experience in operations or sales, preferably in logistics or manufacturing
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification and/or PMP
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Salesforce experience
  • The self-motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Create and manage cohesive project programs and plans with identifiable critical paths, task dependencies, risk/issue mitigation processes and major milestones
  • Work with business process owners to identify and scope areas of opportunity across customer experience, premium services, sales enablement and operational improvement initiatives
  • Support projects tied to XPO sales initiatives, including process improvements, system enhancements, sales workflow optimization and cross-functional execution with Sales, Pricing, Operations, and Technology teams
  • Help develop new service offerings by coordinating project plans, tracking deliverables and ensuring teams are aligned on customer requirements, service expectations and business outcomes
  • Partner with Customer Experience and Customer Onboarding teams to support new customer service implementations, workflow opportunities and projects that improve speed, accuracy and customer experience
  • Use KPI's and operational reporting to monitor project status and performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Address roadblocks, bottlenecks and challenges as they arise through problem solving, proactive communication and strategic adjustments
  • Provide leadership for project execution for both internal departments and external clients; offer direction and guidance to the project team and communicate project requirements to internal and external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships and collaborations with senior leadership to support company goals
  • Develop presentations that illustrate solution components and value propositions
  • Support other project managers and project team members as needed
