Job description

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of AASHTO, State (FDOT) and Municipal (Green Book) design criteria, FDOT Specifications and Standard Plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Management skills are required to lead and direct a team of inspectors.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgement in anticipating and solving roadway construction issues.
  • Ability to manage project budget and schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversight of Asset Maintenance Contractors daily work.
  • Performs field reviews to identify work needs and to verify work completion.
  • Work orders issuance and close out.
  • Attend meetings with client and contractors.
  • Review and provides input on cost proposals from Contractors.
  • Performs and directs others in accordance with company’s policies and to the
  • satisfaction of the client’s requirements.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of asset maintenance contracts to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of roadway construction inspection or management is required

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Construction preferred or related field
