We are seeking a highly organized and operationally driven Retail Project Manager to support retail growth initiatives, new account openings, installations, merchandising execution, and special projects across our retail operations teams.

Position Summary
The Retail Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects supporting Five Star's Retail Operations division. This position partners closely with Retail Leadership, Operations, Merchandising, and branch teams to coordinate installations, retail initiatives, promotions, upgrades, acquisitions, and operational improvements.
The ideal candidate can balance multiple priorities, travel extensively, lead projects independently, and ensure retail standards are consistently executed across all locations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Retail Operations & Project Execution
  • Coordinate and support retail projects including new account openings, remodels, acquisitions, and operational rollouts
  • Assist with retail installations, merchandising execution, promotional initiatives, and market upgrades
  • Support client presentations, grand opening events, and retail operational launches
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with company expectations
Merchandising & Compliance
  • Conduct retail inspections and inventory audits to ensure operational standards are maintained
  • Validate merchandising standards, cleanliness, customer service, and planogram (POG) compliance across retail locations
  • Utilize reporting and operational systems to support inventory accuracy, replenishment, and merchandising execution
  • Support spoilage reduction and operational KPI initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with branch leadership, Retail Operations teams, and merchandising personnel to ensure company retail standards are upheld
  • Communicate project status updates with leadership and stakeholders
  • Attend staff meetings and support ongoing operational initiatives across the organization
  • Assist in account retention efforts and escalate operational concerns when necessary
Operational Support
  • Support field teams with merchandising, warehouse, and retail execution duties as needed
  • Travel to customer locations and branch operations to support project completion and relationship management
  • Maintain professionalism while representing Five Star with customers and clients
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • 2+ years of project management, retail operations, merchandising, or related operational experience preferred
  • Experience within vending, micro-markets, retail, foodservice, or convenience operations preferred
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Ability to make operational and financial decisions effectively
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with operational reporting systems and retail analytics preferred
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 90% travel may be required)
