What is program management?

Program management is the coordinated oversight and management of multiple related projects that align with an organization's strategic objectives. Program managers ensure that projects within a program are executed efficiently, risks are managed, and benefits are realized. Program Managers work closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, marketing, finance, and operations to align project objectives with organizational strategy. They facilitate communication, coordinate resources, and manage dependencies across teams to ensure milestones are met on schedule. Regular meetings, status updates, and transparent documentation are key practices, helping to address challenges proactively and keep everyone on track. This collaborative approach not only drives program success but also builds strong professional relationships across the organization.

How to get a job in program management?

Program managers typically have previous experience as a project manager or in a similar role. Most program managers have a bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
