Job description

Program Assistant

Position Summary: The Program Assistant will assist the Director of Social Services or the Community Program Coordinator in implementing, conducting and supervising the Community Center programs for children and adults which will benefit their emotional, physical and spiritual health.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist community center programming in implementing, conducting and supervising programs which would include Community Kitchen, showers, laundry and other community services.
  • Assist in building relationships with parents and children that participate in these programs.
  • Enforces facility safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain order in the Community Center by enforcing rule relating to conduct and the use of equipment and facilities.
  • May be responsible for opening and closing the community center.
  • Help to safeguard all equipment and supplies including tables, chairs, washer, dryer, etc.
  • Responsible for regular cleaning and maintaining the facility when used for programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of High School diploma/GED desired, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Training and/or education experience in leading social service programs preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain training and certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and Blood Pathogen
  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
