CivicScience is seeking a Director, Product Strategy to establish a clear and disciplined product approach, improve prioritization and roadmap alignment, and strengthen our competitive positioning through market-informed decisions. This role is ideal for an experienced product professional who has established clear and disciplined product strategy while creating organizational clarity around product portfolio and future direction. Our preferred candidate will help us proactively anticipate customer and market needs (rather than reacting to them) and align our teams around what we build, why it matters, and who we're building for.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio
  • Develop and drive CivicScience product strategy and long-term product roadmap
  • Define and evolve our product portfolio, establishing criteria for what defines products vs. services vs. customized solutions
  • Create frameworks to evaluate and prioritize new product opportunities
  • Ensure product investments align with customer demand, market trends, and business priorities
Market & Competitive Intelligence
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and conduct ongoing market benchmarking
  • Identify industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations
  • Make strategic recommendations on where the market is headed
  • Position CivicScience products for future growth
  • Assess opportunities to leverage AI and other emerging technologies that impact offerings
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Collaborate across business units to identify new market opportunities, eliminate product gaps, and address recurring customer needs
  • Support customer and partner conversations by clearly articulating product vision and long-term direction
Product Planning
  • Bring structure and discipline to product planning, prioritization, and roadmap development
  • Identify necessary cross-functional teammates to collaborate on strategic product initiatives and special projects
  • Lead the product planning process from concept through execution
Customer Experience & Product Definition
  • Translate complex business and customer needs into clear, concise product requirements and user workflows that enable intuitive customer experiences
  • Develop clear product positioning and messaging that strengthens market presence
Communication & Leadership
  • Communicate product strategy clearly an concisely to executives and cross-functional teams
  • Influence decision-making across departments through data-driven insights and thoughtful recommendations
  • Foster a disciplined product culture, focused on long-term value creation

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, management consulting, or related strategic leadership role(s)
  • Demonstrated success developing product strategy and bringing new products and/or portfolios to market
  • Strong understanding of data, advertising, competitive analysis, and product positioning
  • Experience creating strategic product roadmaps and investment frameworks
  • Knowledge of commercial application of AI and other emerging technologies
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Established industry network
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct managerial authority
  • Bachelor's degree (required); MBA (preferred)
