Job Classification: This is a full-time position. Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.

Job Summary

The Product Development Coordinator at Stephen Joseph will play a key role in supporting the development of new and innovative products, including children and adult gifts, clothing, and homeware. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and ensuring the successful execution of product development projects from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong organizational background, a passion for creativity, and experience in product development processes.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Product Development team in creating and managing timelines for the development of new products.
  • Coordinate communication between design, marketing, production, and sourcing teams to ensure alignment on product development goals and schedules.
  • Organize and track the status of multiple projects, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of product specifications, including materials, colors, features, and packaging
  • Help source and evaluate new materials, vendors, and manufacturing partners for potential product lines.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to help generate new product ideas and improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of product development projects, including samples, approvals, and revisions.
  • Coordinate with the sourcing and manufacturing teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective production of products.
  • Help prepare and organize product samples for internal reviews, customer presentations, and trade shows.
  • Monitor and report on product development budgets, ensuring that projects stay within financial guidelines.
  • Ensure that products align with the brand’s vision, quality standards, and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop product launch strategies and promotional materials.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Product Development, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in product development, project coordination, or a similar role within retail, consumer goods, or a related industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project management software or product lifecycle management tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to contribute innovative ideas for product development.
  • Knowledge of the children's products, homewares, or gift industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also being a supportive team player.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
  • Ability to lift and move product samples, materials, or office supplies up to 25 pounds.
