Position : Product Development Technician
Location : El Paso, TX
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Start Time : 7:00 AM
End Time : 4:00 PM
Total Hours/week : 40.00
Description:
  • Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering and documentation practices.
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of mechanisms, materials and elementary hand and machine tools and equipment.
  • Uses common hand tools to modify components and assemble prototypes or test fixtures.
  • Executes pre-defined basic level protocols with high degree of direction.
  • Requires support with equipment set-up.
  • Applies good documentation practices to capture and document data.
  • Investigates and documents basic failures. Communicates failures to supervisors.
  • Is entry level with limited experience. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method.
  • Maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed.
  • Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
  • Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production).
  • Works within clearly defined SOPs and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works with a high degree of supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists PD engineers in the specification, selection, and qualification for new equipment and products.
  • Drafts Protocol, Engineering Tests and execution of new equipment, materials, and products, validations and testing.
  • Trains operations personnel in the adjustment, maintenance and operations of new equipment developed by PD.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical\electrical machine problems using equipment manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Assembles prototype new products and pilot synthesis plant, prepare and move test material.
  • Able to operate a pallet jack or electric pallet jack.
  • Assist engineers in the development of cost improvement, automation and new equipment projects.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation on all product/process development. Updates equipment documentation /schematics to reflect implemented changes.
  • Assure compliance to GMP's in the PD department.
  • Must have awareness and respect of all company policies and safety rules.

Education:
  • Must have a HS Diploma
  • Associates degree preferred but not required.
