Base Pay Range: $146,829 - $212,616.00

Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for making authoritative decisions and recommendations that have significant impact on extensive engineering activities of the business unit, and for coaching managers to do the same. Individuals at this level demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering complexities, planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.
This position reports to the VP - Lighting and Display Technologies.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively to drive development and engineering projects, developing future leaders, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing overall supervision to department to assure that technical, administrative, labor, and schedule targets of department are met within framework of established corporate policy and in accordance with applicable professional standards, design-control procedures, and corporate procedures and guidelines.
  • Planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities of outstanding novelty and importance. Collaborating with the commercial side of the business to prioritize work and allocate resources.
  • Negotiating critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations.
  • Assisting executives and/or directors in defining organizational goals and strategic plans.
  • Developing guidelines, processes, and procedures for an assigned functional area.
  • Managing resource allocation and planning for future needs.
  • Serving as a technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to their field of expertise.
  • Interacting with sales personnel and customers and responding to their needs.
  • Adapting departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Resolving critical issues and contributing to organizational development.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Broad knowledge of the field
  • Proven strong leadership skills

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for a team of employees and is responsible for hiring, training, evaluating performance, managing workloads, and addressing disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies, along with team development and retention.
