Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Manage Engineering Process Controls teams staffing, including recruitment, management/supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions, with a focus on building a team that aligns with business objectives.
  • Develop and oversee Process Control Group departmental standardization and documentation
  • Create control system logic using ladder, function block, and sequential function chart languages.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and customer service within the Engineering Process Controls group.
  • Maintain control’s team related budget
  • Work with production staff, instrument technicians, IT, electricians, control specialists, and engineers to understand processes and automation needs.
  • Create process history data charts and convert data into usable formats.
  • Interpret P&IDs, process descriptions, and other documentation to assist in automation design.
  • Oversee, create, and update control system documentation such as: cause and effect interlock matrices, I/O mapping, flowcharts, loop sheets, instrument specification sheets, and functional descriptions. 
  • Manage Automation Consultants contract work.
  • Develop user-friendly graphics interface for various processes.
  • Create control system logic using ladder, function block, and sequential function chart languages.
  • Lead OSI Soft PI Data Historian System deployment and ongoing management efforts
  • Oversee/support Alarm Management at the Global level for the organization
  • Develop and implement process control improvement plans and lead direct reports to meet these needs.
  • Subject Matter Expert using protocols such as Modbus, Fieldbus, Ethernet/IP, and DeviceNet to establish robust communication between control systems and equipment.
  • Lead/Perform/Delegate prioritized process control related project work plant wide including commissioning activities
  • Troubleshooting as needed plant wide
  • Provide 24/7 operational support/coverage plant wide for process control systems and data management as needed.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.”
  • Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
  • Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required.  It is the employee’s commitment to ensure that the Company’s actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational/Technical Associates degree in Electrical, PLC/HMI related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years programming or control engineering, and troubleshooting experience DCS and PLC systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership ability.       
  • Expert knowledge relating to Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controller. installation/troubleshooting, including knowledge of electrical / mechanical / pneumatic related devices.
  • Experience with configuring wiring, cabling, servers, computers and equipment in new construction and commissioning.
  • Demonstrated OSI Soft PI Data Historian software deployment and management experience.
  • Technical expertise & responsibility for data historian configuration and deployment.
  • Demonstrated Alarm Management experience per ISA 18.2.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Understand and apply Process Safety Management (PSM) principles
  • Read and understand repair manuals and drawings
  • Apply proper safety practices and follow procedures while performing maintenance tasks
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines.
  • Work as a team and/or independently.
  • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Summary pay range: $110K-$150K

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is occasionally loud. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
