Reporting to this position: Quality Control Team

BASIC FUNCTION

Ensuing all the products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role oversees quality inspections, laboratory testing, supplier quality, and compliance with GMP, FDA, and company requirements. The position also leads quality investigations, CAPA programs, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, standards, and quality management systems to ensure product consistency and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, and other applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to company quality policies, specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee inspection, testing, and approval of incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Review supplier documentation, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and manage non-conforming materials, including quarantine and disposition activities.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and conduct in-process quality inspections to ensure products meet approved specifications.
  • Investigate production deviations, non-conformances, and quality issues, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Review and approve laboratory testing results, including physical, chemical, microbiological, and stability testing.
  • Authorize product release or rejection based on compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
  • Manage QC laboratory operations, including supervision of personnel, equipment calibration, method validation, and testing activities.
  • Investigate customer complaints and product quality incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective CAPA programs.
  • Evaluate supplier quality performance, conduct supplier audits, and collaborate with vendors to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready quality documentation, including batch records, test results, specifications, reports, and SOPs.
  • Lead, train, and develop QC staff while driving continuous improvement initiatives and monitoring key quality metrics such as defect rates, right-first-time production, batch rejections, customer complaints, audit compliance, and supplier performance.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO, and cosmetic industry quality standards.
  • Experience in quality control, laboratory testing, and quality systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and CAPA management skills.
  • Supplier quality, audit, and compliance management experience.
  • Proficiency in quality documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to or in excess of one hour); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision requirements for the use of computer monitors include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/ or manually move up to 25 pounds.

EDUCATION / TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with experience in quality control, manufacturing, or operations within the cosmetics and personal care industry.

This position is classified exempt.
