Position Summary
Davcor Aviation Services is currently seeking experienced Quality Control (QC) Inspectors to support commercial aircraft heavy maintenance operations in Kansas City, MO.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance actions, inspections, and associated documentation are completed in accordance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, customer requirements, and company quality standards. The QC Inspector performs incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify the serviceability and airworthiness of aircraft and aircraft components.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming and preliminary inspections of aircraft and aircraft components in accordance with customer work cards and manufacturer maintenance manuals
  • Conduct in-process inspections including clearance-to-close inspections, torque verifications, dimensional checks, rigging inspections, and system operational checks
  • Perform final buy-back inspections of completed maintenance actions to ensure compliance with approved data and airworthiness requirements
  • Verify that maintenance documentation is complete and accurately reflects work performed in accordance with FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual requirements, and customer Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Programs (CAMP)
  • Review and validate maintenance records, task cards, logbook entries, and serviceable tags
  • As authorized, perform return-to-service inspections and execute airworthiness releases, including aircraft logbook entries and FAA Form 337 documentation
  • Conduct audits of maintenance facilities, tooling, and processes to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and safety standards
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and technical publications
  • Communicate discrepancies and quality concerns to maintenance personnel and management while assisting in the resolution of non-conformances
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all FAA, OSHA, customer, and company safety policies and procedures
  • Support overtime, weekend work, and schedule flexibility as required by operational demands
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of aircraft maintenance and quality assurance operations
Qualifications
Required
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Minimum three (3) years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance documentation requirements
  • Experience performing aircraft inspections and verifying compliance with approved maintenance data
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, and technical publications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial MRO environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
  • Previous Commercial MRO experience
  • Previous Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) experience
  • Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) experience or certification
  • Previous supervisory or lead technician experience
  • Experience working on Boeing 737, Boeing 767, and Airbus aircraft platforms
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 91, Part 121, and Part 145 maintenance environments
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing maintenance documentation and records
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work from ladders, maintenance stands, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirements
