Our patient data platform integrates genomics with deep, longitudinal clinical and imaging data, enabling us to uncover genetic drivers of disease progression, advance novel therapeutics, and define patient stratification strategies that improve clinical success.
Our interdisciplinary team spans human genetics, clinical science, data science and engineering, and drug discovery and development. We are advancing two programs for Dry Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) into the clinic, with additional discovery-stage programs underway.
Founded in 2018, Character has raised capital from leading investors at the intersection of healthcare and technology, including an oversubscribed $110+ million Series B in 2025 co-led by aMoon and Luma Group, with participation from Bausch + Lomb, Innovation Endeavors, Sanofi Ventures, Catalio Capital Management, S32, KdT Ventures, and Jefferson Life Sciences. Role: Data Quality Control (QC) Coordinator
Reports to: Manager, Data Products and Quality

The Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Data Quality Control Coordinator for a 6-month contract, with potential to extend based on study enrollment. As a member of Character's Data Products & Quality team, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality, standardized datasets that support our observational studies, clinical trials, and research collaborations. In this hands-on role, you will review and validate AI-extracted medical and imaging data, applying rigorous quality standards to ensure accuracy and consistency. Your work will help ensure Character's data assets are reliable, robust, and ready to drive clinical and scientific discovery.
This remote role reports to the Manager, Data Products & Quality.
Responsibilities
  • Review AI-extracted medical record and imaging data for accuracy, following established procedures and quality standards
  • Verify and update data efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Identify and correct discrepancies in data records as needed
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times

About You
You are highly detail-oriented and motivated by the opportunity to make research data more reliable, usable, and impactful. You enjoy both technology-enabled and hands-on work, and can move comfortably between spreadsheets, structured workflows, and AI-driven tools. You thrive in a dynamic environment, communicate proactively, and can stay focused on repetitive tasks while consistently meeting individual and team goals.

  • Experience with HIPAA and/or GCP guidelines preferred

Compensation & Benefits
The hourly pay range for this contract full-time position is $20/hr - $25/hr + benefits.
