Job description

Position Title โ€“ Fabrication Quality Control Inspector (1st Shift / 4 - 6 Weeks)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fabrication Quality Control Inspector to support a manufacturing facility on a short-term assignment. This role focuses on dimensional inspections, blueprint interpretation, and ensuring fabricated components meet quality standards prior to shipment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment while maintaining strict safety and documentation standards.

Location:Lenexa, KS

Employment Type: Temporary (4โ€“6 Weeks)

Work Environment: Manufacturing / Fabrication Shop

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Work Hours: Monday โ€“ Friday, 6:00am โ€“ 2:30pm

Position Summary:

The Fabrication Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections on components and finished goods. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, experience with precision measuring tools, and the ability to identify and document non-conforming materials prior to release for shipment.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on fabricated parts and assemblies.

  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and drawings to verify specifications and tolerances.

  • Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision squares (digital and analog).

  • Identify, document, and control non-conforming materials.

  • Verify corrective actions before releasing product for shipment.

  • Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.

  • Follow ISO 9001 quality standards and all safety regulations.

  • Operate forklift and/or overhead crane as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3โ€“5 years of quality control and/or welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

  • Strong blueprint reading and dimensional inspection experience.

  • Experience using precision measurement tools.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, dust, and machinery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Welding experience in a fabrication setting.

  • Forklift and/or overhead crane certification.

  • Experience working in an ISO-regulated environment.

  • Strong math skills including geometry and metric measurements.
