Smith Industries is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality team. This position is responsible for inspecting materials, fabrication, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements while promoting a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Inspect materials, welds, dimensions, and finished products using appropriate measuring and inspection tools.
  • Review customer specifications, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances while assisting with corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports.
  • Work closely with production, customers, and third-party inspectors to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Verify inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
Qualifications
  • Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of measuring tools and inspection techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with AWS, ASME, API, or other applicable industry standards is preferred.
