Quality Control Inspector - Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain the quality levels of work produced in accordance with applicable codes, standards, contract documents, and company QC procedures.
  • Prepares detailed and thorough daily inspection reports.
  • Monitor records on all shop welders with their level of certification and monitor daily rod use.
  • Assist in setting up, monitor and maintain welding procedures, bolting procedures and painting procedures required for projects.
  • Provide feedback on questions related to quality and project requirements from shop employees.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Quality Control Inspector - Qualifications

  • Previous fitting and welding experience is required.
  • AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT level-II certification, and/or SSPC/NACE certification is desirable.
  • 5 years of experience in a steel fabrication shop environment.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings and pass an inspector test. 
  • Must have excellent mathematical skills. 
  • High School or equivalent degree required.

Quality Control Inspector - Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and be able to climb 25 ft.  
  • Must have ability to bend, stoop, push and pull frequently. 
  • Requires occasional travel with overnight stays. 
  • Exposure to temperature fluctuations and loud work environment.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
