Job Title: Logistics Quality Control (QC) Specialist
Department: Logistics
Reports To: Logistics Manager / Quality Manager

The Logistics Quality Control (QC) Specialist is responsible for ensuring all packaged cannabis products meet internal quality standards and Ohio regulatory requirements before being released to the vault as finished goods and prior to outbound distribution. This role serves as a critical control point between Packaging, Inventory, and Logistics, verifying product accuracy, compliance, and documentation integrity. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
Finished Goods & Lot Quality Control
ย 
โ— Perform detailed QC inspections on all packaged lots received from the Packaging Department prior to vault intake.
  • โ— Verify lot integrity, SKU accuracy, unit counts, weights, packaging configuration, heat/tamper seal and labeling compliance.
  • โ— Ensure all required regulatory information is present and accurate, including:
  • โ—‹ License numbers
  • โ—‹ Batch/lot numbers
  • โ—‹ Harvest and packaging dates
  • โ—‹ Net weight
  • โ—‹ Required warning statements
  • โ— Confirm packaging meets internal quality standards and is free of defects, damage, or contamination.
  • โ— Accurately document QC approvals, rejections, and findings per SOP requirements.
Order Quality Control & Fulfillment Verification
  • โ— Conduct final QC checks on all outbound orders prior to shipment or delivery.
    โ— Verify each order is 100% accurate, including:
    โ—‹ Correct SKUs and product types
    โ—‹ Correct lot numbers
    โ—‹ Correct quantities and unit configurations
    โ—‹ Matching manifest and sales order documentation
    โ— Ensure orders comply with Ohio cannabis transportation and distribution regulations.
    โ— Identify, escalate, and document discrepancies before orders leave the facility.
Compliance & Documentation
  • โ— Maintain accurate and complete QC records in accordance with Ohio Division of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations.
    โ— Ensure inventory movements and lot releases are accurately reflected in the state seed-to-sale tracking system.
    โ— Adhere strictly to GMP, SOPs, and internal quality policies.
    โ— Support audits and inspections by providing documentation and traceability records when requested.
Cross-Functional Communication
  • โ— Communicate QC findings clearly and professionally with Packaging, Inventory, Logistics, and Management teams.
  • โ— Escalate quality or compliance risks immediately and participate in root cause analysis as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends or recurring issues.
Required Qualifications
  • โ— Previous experience in quality control, logistics, inventory, or regulated manufacturing preferred.
  • โ— Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • โ— Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • โ— Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • โ— Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance standards.
  • โ— Ability to stand, walk, and handle packaged products throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications
  • โ— Experience in the cannabis industry, particularly in packaging, inventory, logistics, or QC.
    โ— Familiarity with Ohio cannabis regulations and seed-to-sale tracking systems.
    โ— GMP or quality systems experience.
    โ— Experience performing lot and order audits in a warehouse or distribution environment.
