The Quality Control Manager Position

This is an on-site position serving as the Contractor’s designated Quality Control Manager on projects involving the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). In this role, the Quality Control Manager will implement and manage the Contractor Quality Control Plan, ensuring all work complies with contract drawings, specifications, and submittal requirements. You will oversee the three-phase quality control system, conduct daily inspections, and maintain accurate QC reports and documentation.

The Quality Control Manager will review submittals, RFIs, and material certifications, coordinate required testing and inspections, and track deficiencies to ensure timely resolution. Acting as the primary liaison with the Government QA Representative, you will ensure all documentation is complete and submitted on time. This role also includes participating in project meetings and maintaining the authority to stop work if necessary to prevent non-compliant construction.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Quality Control Manager Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
  • Prior experience serving in Quality Control Manager, Quality Manager, Project Engineer, or similar construction quality role on US Army Corps of Engineers projects required.
  • Working knowledge of USACE Contractor Quality Control requirements, including the three-phase control process, preparatory meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, daily QC reporting, and deficiency tracking.
  • Knowledge of, exposure to, and/or an interest in bridge and geotechnical construction
  • Positive, “Can Do” attitude
  • Software & general technical proficiency
