Job description

Overview:      The St. James Plant Process Control Coordinator provides technical and operational expertise for the day-to-day support of the plant Process Information System, Advanced Process Control, Process Control Network, Triconex Safety Instrumented System, Honeywell DCS, and the PAS Integrity & Plant State Suites.   In addition to day-to-day support, this role participates in the planning and migration duties in maintaining the systems' evergreen status and provides process control design for capital projects.  This role also provides support for the plant's Industrial Cyber Security functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure reliable, optimized plant operation by successfully managing, configuring and maintaining the Process Information System (ApsenTech IP21, AspenCalc, Aspen SQL Plus).
  • Manage, configure, and maintain the Advanced Process Control system (AspenTech DMC, Aspen Watch, Aspen Production Control).
  • Manage, configure, and maintain the Process Control Network (servers, workstations, switches, active directory domain, malware protection, disaster recovery, network & host monitoring).
  • Manage, maintain, and support the Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS).
  • Manage, maintain, and support the Honeywell TDC3000/Experion DCS.
  • Manage, maintain, and support the PAS Integrity Plant State Suites.
  • Lead and participate in Alarm Management Philosophy and related processes.
  • Utilize existing or develop process control and plant performance indicators to monitor effectiveness of plant operation and the process control system.
  • Perform training and coaching for changes, as required, and assist in training efforts requested by plant Operations.
  • Coordinate and conduct Process Control system maintenance/repair with field I&E support group and conduct audits for EH&S and Process Control standards compliance.
  • Propose, plan and manage small capital projects.
  • Provide process control and safety system design for plant capital projects.
  • Manage, maintain, and support compliance and participate in third party and parent company auditing with the plant's Industrial Cyber Security (ICS) and NIST standards.  Duties include:
  • Oversee system backups
  •  Administer ICS Access management requests
  •  Administer patch management processes
  •  Oversee ICS change management processes
  • Lead Event Monitoring & Management for ICS functions
  • Lead Security Incident Management for ICS functions
  • Update business continuity documentation on annual basis
  • Execute Annual DR tests
  • Participate in company best practice networks for ICS and Process Control.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field (10+ years Chemical Plant directly related experience may be substituted for degree).
  • 3+ years DCS and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining DCS & SIS equipment experience. Honeywell DCS experience a plus.
  • Plant process information historian experience desired.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and troubleshoot scripts, queries, and programming codes.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Efficient in project management, cost control and budgeting.
  • Ability to maintain a Windows Process Control Network.
  • PSM related alarm management experience desired.
  • Advanced Process Control experience desired.
  • Must have a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) or be able to secure one within 30 days.
Relocation is not available with this position.
