Position Summary - The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day inventory management and operational efficiency of the Distribution Center. This role works closely with the Distribution Center Manager and other departments to maintain accurate inventory levels, support logistics coordination, process inventory transactions, and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining operational accuracy, supporting customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement throughout the distribution process.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining inventory control procedures and best practices to improve accuracy and minimize shortages, overstock situations, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Support the Distribution Center Manager in coordinating daily warehouse and distribution center operations, workflow planning, and facility organization.
  • Process and maintain Purchase Orders, Shipment Orders, Sales Orders, and inventory transactions within Acumatica ERP.
  • Review and reconcile inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged product issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activity, including scheduling deliveries, carrier communication, and shipment tracking.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and physical inventories while reconciling inventory variances between physical inventory and system records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to purchasing and operational teams.
  • Partner with sales, purchasing, finance, and warehouse teams to ensure inventory availability aligns with customer and operational demands.
  • Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and coordinate resolution of receiving discrepancies with vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, documentation, and reporting within Acumatica and other company systems.
  • Assist with order picking, shipment verification, and final review of outbound orders to ensure accuracy prior to delivery or customer pickup.
  • Support warehouse organization, cleanliness, and overall operational efficiency throughout the Distribution Center.
  • Communicate professionally with internal departments, vendors, freight carriers, and customers as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and workflow efficiencies within inventory and logistics processes.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and operational standards.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial environment.
  • Understanding of freight coordination, shipping processes, and supply chain operations.
  • Experience conducting physical inventories and inventory reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management best practices and warehouse workflow processes.
