ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Control Supervisor (PCS) is responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing of the Company's cement products. The individual oversees equipment optimization, utilization and reliability in a safe manner while maintaining environmental compliance, quality and budgeted costs. A fully certified PCS is competent in quality control laboratory procedures, the remote operation of the plant's cement manufacturing components and has the ability to supervise assigned bargaining unit employees in their daily tasks.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  •  Ensure all subordinates are working and promoting safety at all times through daily, weekly and monthly safety communications, on the job coaching and by taking a leadership role in the plant safety program.
  • Oversees consistent production of all cement, clinker and raw mix within established quality guidelines ensuring appropriate actions and communication for any deviations.
  • Monitors all plant process systems and related auxiliary equipment from a central location ensuring the safety of all employees and integrity of the company assets.
  • Provides field supervision, maintains good labor relations, develops subordinates, and administers prevailing labor agreement.
  • Optimizes equipment utilization in cooperation with the process and maintenance departments.
  • Adheres to documented plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) environmental requirements.
  • Operates process, operation and personal computers and software including Microsoft Office, Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens, LUCIE, IP21 and PPW Downtime Reporting.
  • Maintains knowledge of capacity and production rates of all major pieces of equipment.
  • Keeps a running log of the shifts activities including equipment down time and reasons, quality information, and a general report of the shift operation.
  • Performs field checks, trouble shooting of raw/finish mill/kiln systems in compliance with company quality standards.
  • Performs accurate analysis of various materials and reporting results, making necessary adjustments.
  • Acts as the Plant Emergency Response Coordinator as well as contact person for emergency response personnel and/or regulatory agency representatives.
  • Other duties as assigned when not required in the control room.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent or 3  years of equivalent experience

Additional Education Preferred:  Bachelor's degree

Field of Study Preferred:  Technical Field/Mechanical/Electrical

Rquired Work Experience:  Minimum 3 years experience in cement manufacturing or related industry. Must be able to work shift work, callouts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend and holiday work.

Additional Requirements: 

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
