Temporary School Office Secretary

Reports To: School's Main Office

Position Purpose: To effectively maintain overall operations of the schools office while the permanent secretary is absent.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Typing & word processing skills of 45+ words per minute
  • Ability to relate well with students, staff, parents, & community members
  • Skill in office management & coordination desirable
  • Ability to operate office machines; Ability to work extensively with computer/word processor
  • Ability to handle pressure/stress and ambiguity; ability to hold confidences

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works extensively in receiving, welcoming, referring, and communicating with parents, students, staff, school district personnel, and community members.
  • Places & receives telephone calls and maintains a schedule of appointments.
  • May be asked to type correspondence including reports, newsletter, memos.
  • May be asked to maintain a regular and/or confidential filing system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal and/or associate principal.
  • Performs varied related office duties associated with a busy, hectic, productive, & smoothly-run environment.
