They set performance metrics, monitor progress, and provide feedback to ensure goals are met efficiently. Performance Managers often work closely with team leaders and HR to implement training and development programs. Their role is crucial in aligning individual and team performance with the company's objectives.

How does a Performance Manager typically collaborate with other departments to drive organizational success?

Performance Managers work closely with leaders and teams across departments—such as HR, operations, and finance—to align performance metrics with organizational goals. They often facilitate regular meetings to review progress, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies that support both team development and business objectives. Effective collaboration ensures that performance initiatives are integrated and sustained throughout the organization.

To thrive as a Performance Manager, you need a strong background in analytics, goal-setting frameworks, and organizational development, often supported by a degree in business or human resources. Familiarity with performance management systems, HR analytics tools, and project management software is typically required. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities set standout candidates apart in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for driving employee productivity, aligning team objectives with organizational goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What Is a Performance Manager?

A performance manager seeks to create a system in which employees can perform at their best by creating clear goals and expectations. Rather than a traditional corporate system of employee appraisal and evaluation, performance managers try to communicate end goals and align each employee’s work with these aims. In this role, you may seek the development of benchmarks so that the company’s departments or groups can measure their progress concretely. This is an ongoing effort. Benchmarks and goals must change, so you must continually find new ways to measure progress and to inspire effort.

Job description

Make an impact through data, insights, and strategy

Are you someone who enjoys turning data into meaningful insights that drive real business outcomes?

As a Dealer Performance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in understanding and improving dealer performance and profitability across our network.

In this role, you won’t just analyze numbers—you’ll help answer critical questions like:

  • What’s happening in our dealer network?
  • Where are we seeing changes?
  • Why is it happening?
  • And what should we do about it?

You’ll partner closely with our Dealer Performance Lead and cross-functional teams to deliver insights that influence strategy, pricing, and program decisions across the business.

ResponsibilitiesTurn Data into Insight
  • Analyze dealer and account performance across F&I, service, and profit programs
  • Identify trends across individual dealers, dealer groups, and the broader portfolio
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
Understand the “Why”
  • Dig into performance shifts to uncover root causes
  • Identify key drivers like product mix, claims, dealer behavior, and risk
  • Help define early warning indicators and highlight opportunities or concerns before they escalate
Model the Future
  • Build scenario analyses to predict the impact of potential changes
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate decisions before they’re implemented
  • Track results after changes to continuously improve strategies
Collaborate Across Teams
  • Work closely with the Dealer Performance Lead to support field conversations
  • Partner with Pricing, Actuarial, Claims, and Reporting teams
  • Help translate dealer insights into inputs for pricing decisions, underwriting, and forecasting
What Success Looks Like
  • You provide clear, confident answers to “what, where, and why”
  • Your insights help the business proactively manage risk and drive profitability
  • Your modeling supports smarter decisions before changes are made
  • Your work is trusted and used across multiple teams, from field leaders to finance and pricing partners
What You Bring
  • A strong foundation in analytics and financial thinking
  • The ability to connect the dots and uncover drivers behind performance trends
  • Experience with scenario modeling or forecasting
  • Confidence explaining complex insights in a simple, relatable way
  • A collaborative mindset—you enjoy working across teams to solve problems
  • Comfort working with imperfect or evolving data
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Typically 3–5+ years of experience in analytics, financial analysis, or performance analysis
  • Experience working with data-driven insights, reporting, or business performance tracking
  • Background in vehicle service contract industry, financial services, or insurance is a plus
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Ability to identify drivers and root causes in complex data
  • Experience with scenario analysis or modeling
  • Clear communication skills for non-technical audiences
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Salesforce (SQL a plus)
Why This Role is Exciting
  • You’ll directly influence dealer performance and business strategy
  • Your work will shape decisions across pricing, underwriting, and program design
  • You’ll partner with a wide range of teams, gaining exposure across the organization
  • You’ll move beyond reporting—this role is about insight, impact, and action

If you enjoy solving complex problems, telling stories with data, and influencing business outcomes, this role is a great fit for you.
