Job Description

Title: Workday US Payroll Consultant

Location: Exton, PA

Duration - 06+ Months Contract position on W2

  • We have seen really junior candidates with 1-2 years of payroll experience, or IT payroll experience (software) but didn't actually have payroll experience.
  • Must have 4-5 years' experience in correct kind of payroll.
  • Dual role with 75% of the role working predominately with projects, and the other 25% analytical.
  • One Main Project-Workday implementation for Payroll & AON outsource
  • -collating data
  • -Be part of the project team
  • -Testing in workday (must be comfortable and confident with testing)
  • -Insure team is delivering on deadlines
  • Other project is assist with W2 year-end season work
  • Unique role as it pertains to Payroll, but has attributes that make it interesting.
  • Candidate needs to have project experience in their previous roles,
  • Confident and accountable and able to "role" with change as well as work independently
  • MUST have a US payroll background (implementation of workday/ADP)
  • This role needs much more experience as opposed to education (bachelors not required)
  • Projects within payroll department is ideal skill set.
  • ADP and Workday are Must Have's-manager wants to see both but one or the other is required.
  • Advanced excel experience absolutely necessary
  • Experience with W2 experience necessary
  • Must come from a mid-size-large organization.
  • Manager wants to see candidates with payroll project experience, not just running payroll.
  • The role will support multiple payroll projects and also support any additional payroll reporting needed for yearend processing.
  • The candidate should possess payroll/human resource business knowledge, additionally Workday knowledge and system conversion or upgrade experience.

Job Function and Description:

  • Support projects and cross functional initiatives that maybe required within the scope of the projects. Act as a resource for Payroll special projects within or across HR groups.
  • Analyze and evaluate data for purposes of conversion from Workday/AON & ADP Tax filing & Year End. Act as business analyst to support any tax reconciliations for year end and W2 processing. Update and or create new process documentation in support of system changes. Escalate issues/risks pro-actively to appropriate team and members and management. Regularly communicate status and challenges to team members and management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS in related field or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of experience supporting payroll implementations or conversions for US and Canada. Experience with Workday and Workday Payroll and Reporting systems is required. Additionally advanced excel skills are required.
