We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to support payroll operations for a large employee population in Hartford, Connecticut. This Contract position will oversee accurate and timely payroll processing while helping maintain compliance, data integrity, and effective coordination across payroll-related activities. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Oracle Fusion and Oracle Fusion HCM, along with a hands-on approach to payroll administration in complex environments.
Responsibilities:
• Direct end-to-end payroll processing for an organization with more than 500 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established policies
• Manage day-to-day payroll administration activities, including review of payroll inputs, validation of employee data, and resolution of payroll discrepancies
• Utilize Oracle Fusion and Oracle Fusion HCM to maintain payroll records, process transactions, and support ongoing operational needs
• Prepare, audit, and submit payroll data loads using payroll loaders to ensure information is entered completely and correctly
• Investigate payroll issues and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve questions related to pay, deductions, and system-generated results
• Monitor payroll controls and perform regular reconciliation activities to reduce errors and support reporting accuracy
• Maintain compliance with applicable payroll regulations, tax requirements, and organizational procedures
• Generate payroll-related reports and provide analysis to support leadership decision-making and operational planning• Proven experience managing payroll for employee populations exceeding 500 employees
• Strong hands-on knowledge of payroll operations and payroll administration best practices
• Experience working with Oracle Fusion Payroll, including payroll loaders
• Proficiency with Oracle Fusion HCM in a payroll-focused environment
• Demonstrated ability to review payroll data carefully and resolve processing issues with accuracy
• Working knowledge of payroll compliance requirements and standard internal controls
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a Contract role
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and addressing payroll inquiries
