JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate resolution of complex Payroll issues impacting team members. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This role includes managing payroll staff, coordinating with other departments, and continuously improving payroll processes. This role will also coordinate team training and provide support to the Payroll Director.

Successful candidates are passionate and enthusiastic about helping others, eager to learn new skills, and are detail oriented. The position requires great project management, payroll management expertise, training, and teamwork skills to coordinate the tasks associated with each implementation. The combination of technical know-how, interpersonal communication, a strong sense of initiative, and a drive to get the job done well will be critical to success. Success in this role will involve driving cross- functional partnerships to identify, design and implement value added efficiency workflows to achieve delivery of a team member's final pay. They enjoy payroll management and problem solving in a fast-paced environment based in our Atlanta Support Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all team members.
  • Manage and support the payroll team, providing training, guidance, and development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and file necessary payroll-related tax filings.
  • Develop and document payroll policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement reporting tools to streamline payroll processes.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service through timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Assist with research and resolution of complex payroll related matters.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll-related items.
  • Support the Payroll Director in managing multiple project deliverables on time.
  • Completes ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred
  • Experience (3-5 years) in multi-state full cycle payroll with an emphasis on delivering cross-functional project management required
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Workday or comparable software required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Strong computer skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work in a highly structured team environment
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to outlined procedures
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule due to work volume fluctuations
