Parts Advisor โ€“ Job DescriptionConfidence Auto GroupPosition Summary

The Parts Advisor is responsible for assisting customers and technicians with parts inquiries, sourcing, and purchases while maintaining an organized and efficient parts department. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with service and sales teams. General Motors (GM), Ford, CDJRย  parts knowledge is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Technician Support

โ€ข Assist retail customers, service technicians, and internal departments in identifying and selecting required parts.

โ€ข Provide accurate parts pricing, availability, and ETA information.

โ€ข Ensure all customer interactions are professional, friendly, and aligned with dealership standards.

Parts Ordering & Inventory Management

โ€ข Order, receive, and stock OEM and aftermarket parts according to dealership standards.

โ€ข Maintain accurate inventory through proper counting, labeling, and storage.

โ€ข Communicate with vendors regarding availability, returns, and warranty processes.

โ€ข Monitor and control parts obsolescence and ensure proper rotation of stock.

Documentation & Compliance

โ€ข Complete all parts tickets, invoices, and internal repair orders accurately.

โ€ข Follow GM, Ford, CDJR and dealership policies for warranty parts handling and documentation.

โ€ข Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and inventory control procedures.

Collaboration

โ€ข Work closely with the Service Department to ensure timely and accurate parts delivery to technicians.

โ€ข Partner with vendors, drivers, and other dealership departments as needed.

Qualifications

โ€ข General Motors (GM), Ford, CDJR parts knowledge is required.

โ€ข Previous dealership parts advisor experience preferred.

โ€ข Strong understanding of automotive systems and components.

โ€ข Excellent communication and customer service skills.

โ€ข Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

โ€ข Proficiency in dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar).
