Ballard Truck Center in Portland, ME is currently hiring for Parts Counter Representative [1101P]. 
 

Responsibilities and Duties

Parts Counter Representative Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Pull purchased parts from stock
  • If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer.
  • Answer phone calls in a timely manner, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Notify customer re: ordered parts, promptly restock returns, cores.
  • Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person
  • Hours are Monday to Thursday = 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, Friday = 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with mandatory, occasional Saturdays (8:00 am to 12:00 pm)


Qualifications and Skills

Parts Counter Representative Job Requirements:

  • Must have prior, relevant experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Must have at least basic computer skills
  • Professional, personal appearance.
  • Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
  • Will be required to wear a dealership provided uniform.
