Job description

As a valued member of our team, you will process orders for material or merchandise received by mail, telephone, or personally from customer or company employees by performing the following duties. This job deals with a high volume of calls.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer incoming emails and calls from customers and vendors.
  • Full customer service management of assigned plant.
  • Answer incoming emails and calls from customers and vendors.
  • Process incoming orders and shipments.
  • Edits orders received for price and classification.
  • Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
  • Checks inventory control and notify stock control departments of orders that would deplete stock.
  • Routes orders to departments for filling and follows up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.
  • Prepares invoices and shipping documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Receives and checks customer complaints. Escalations sent to dispatch manager.
  • Records or files copy of orders received according to expected delivery date.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to satisfactorily resolve issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Command Alkon.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. General days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday, hours to be determined. Not eligible for remote work. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
