Job description

We are seeking an experienced Order Desk Representative to join our growing rigging and industrial supply company. The ideal candidate will have experience in the rigging, lifting, wire rope, chain, or industrial supply industry and be comfortable helping customers identify products, process orders, and provide outstanding customer service.

This position serves as one of the primary points of contact for customers and works closely with our sales, warehouse, and production teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming customer calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare quotes for rigging and lifting products
  • Recommend products based on customer applications
  • Verify specifications for wire rope, chain, slings, shackles, hoists, lifting hardware, synthetic slings, and related products
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Follow up on quotes and customer orders
  • Enter orders and customer information into the ERP system
  • Maintain pricing, customer records, and order documentation
  • Resolve customer questions regarding products, availability, and shipping
  • Build long-term customer relationships through exceptional service

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the rigging, lifting, crane, industrial supply, or wire rope industry
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Wire rope
    • Chain slings
    • Synthetic slings
    • Shackles
    • Hooks
    • Hoists
    • Lifting hardware
    • Fall protection (preferred)
  • Experience preparing customer quotes and processing sales orders
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience using ERP software (Rubicon ERP preferred)
  • Ability to read customer specifications and product requirements
