Position : Systems Administrator I - Help Desk

Location : Atlanta,GA

Duration : 6 + Months

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Installs, configures, and supports a local area network, wide area network, internet system, computers, desktops and/or mobile devices. Performs necessary maintenance to support network availability. Responsibilities include:

Diagnoses hardware and software problems, replace defective components.

Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations.

Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.

Operates consoles to monitor performance of the computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.

Performs routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.

Designs, configures, and tests computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.

Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments are needed.

Escalates problems to vendor and/or developer for advanced debugging or software correction.

Evaluates of new technologies or solutions to improve service and efficiency of systems.

Prepares user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgrades.

Promotes inter agency cooperation by assisting DPS with the Enforcement systems used on HOT roadways: ELSAG, LPR, DPS Laptops, etc.

Lead administrator on the agency's physical security systems. Including cameras, DVRs, auditor of the badging system hosted by GBA.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems and develop solutions.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of information technology.

Ability to provide on-site and/or remote technical support.
