Operations Specialist – Account Manager
Kelly Services | Direct Hire
Location: Rome, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 100% Onsite
Salary: $60,000–$65,000

Kelly Services is seeking an Operations Specialist for a well-established manufacturing and industrial distribution organization in Rome, GA. This is a great opportunity for an operations professional who enjoys coordinating orders, suppliers, inventory, logistics, and internal teams to keep business moving efficiently.
The Operations Specialist will serve as a key link between customers, suppliers, warehouse, purchasing, sales, quality, accounting, and operations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable working in an ERP system, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
What You'll Do
Order & Operations Management
  • Process customer purchase orders, forecasts, and demand schedules.
  • Enter and maintain sales orders in the ERP system.
  • Coordinate order fulfillment with warehouse and operations teams.
  • Monitor customer shortages and communicate delivery updates.
  • Track customer requirements and ensure orders are executed on time.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation.
Supplier & Purchasing Support
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, shipments, shortages, and delivery dates.
  • Expedite materials and shipments when needed.
  • Identify potential supply issues and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Support purchasing and supplier follow-up activities.
Inventory & Forecasting
  • Process customer forecasts and demand schedules.
  • Monitor inventory movement and availability.
  • Prepare inventory reports and identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
  • Communicate changes in customer demand to internal teams.
Shipping & Logistics
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Arrange transportation with carriers and logistics providers.
  • Prepare shipping and commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs).
  • Track shipments and work with carriers to support on-time delivery.
ERP & Data Management
  • Maintain accurate item, customer, pricing, and order information within the ERP system.
  • Enter and maintain pricing updates.
  • Assist with ERP reporting and data analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of operational data.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality, Accounting, and Operations.
  • Support operational reporting and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects and day-to-day operational needs.
  • Provide backup support for other operational functions as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in operations, logistics, purchasing, customer order management, industrial distribution, or supply chain.
  • Experience working with an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics/Navision experience is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Inventory, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain experience preferred.
