Job description

Thompson Thompson Gastroenterology Clinic Nurse

UR Thompson Thompson Gastroenterology clinic is looking for a nurse with advanced clinical skills to join our team. This RN must be resourceful, creative and be able to make independent decisions within their scope of practice. At Thompson, you are heard. You are respected. You are celebrated. Schedule: Full time, M-F 8am-4:30pm, working out of the Marilyn Sands Outpatient Clinic at the Hospital.

Main Function:

  • Responsible for telephone triage and patient education
  • Provides quality patient care under the guidance of the providers
  • Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care
  • Assist the providers with scheduling patient procedures, patient clearance, and pre and post procedure education

Job Specific Competencies:

  • Skill in provision of care to patients of the Gastroenterology
  • Ability to collect, document and access data in the electronic medical record
  • Telephone triage

Qualifications:

  • Current NYS RN license required
  • Current Infection Control Certificate required
  • BLS certification required

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing required

Experience:

  • Three years of recent nursing experience required
  • Physician office nursing experience and triage experience preferred
  • Gastroenterology experience preferred
