Job Summary
  • The Medical Assistant supports physicians and other professional healthcare providers in the ambulatory care setting by delivering both direct and indirect patient care. This position performs routine medical assisting procedures to promote patient comfort, safety, and quality care.

Job Specifications and Core Competencies
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a one-year medical assistant program or an accredited two-year medical assisting program
  • Previous experience or training in general medical office skills and procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required

Licensure:
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA is preferred at hire and required within 90 days
  • CPR certification required within 60 days of hire

Experience:
  • One to three years of experience in a medical or physician office preferred
  • Basic business office, clinical, and computer skills preferred
