Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

VGS is a highly acclaimed, successful, private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) vocational rehabilitation agency with over 135 years of dedicated experience serving persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment.

We are currently seeking a Development Associate who will play a key role in supporting the organization's fundraising and donor engagement efforts.ย ย 
This person will be expected to complete the following duties in order to be successfulย in the position and be able to contribute to the success of the agency.
ย 
Gift Processing
  • Accurately process all gifts and pledges in the donor database in accordance with established VGS procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgement letters and related correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Maintain electronic records of gifts for internal tracking and external audit puposes.
  • Track pledges and coordinate reminder communications as appropriate.
  • Reconcile gift records with the Finance Department on a monthly basis.
Donor Database Management
  • Maintain and update donor records in Raiser's Edge, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Enter and track donor interactions, meetings and communications.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, mailing lists, and queries to support fundraising initiatives and leadership requests.
  • Perform routine database maintenance and data clean-up.
  • Support reporting needs for fundraising programs and organizational leadership.
Fund Development and Grant Support
  • Conduct research onย prospective and current individual, corporate and foundation donors.
  • Assist in maintaining grant and foundation calendars, including submission and reporting deadlines.
  • Support preparation and assembly of grant proposals and reports.
  • Assist with developmental mailings and associated logistics.
  • Assist with donor outreach planning and scheduling meetings for leadership.
  • Compile statistical information and assist with analysis of fundraising performance and giving trends.
Administrative
  • Provide administrative support for Development Committee and Engagement and Outreach Committee meetings, including scheduling and note-taking.
  • Proofread development and marketing materials as needed.
  • Maintain familiarity with organizational programs and initiatives to support donor communications.
  • Monitor office and department supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Events, Volunteer Engagement, and Communications Support
  • Assist with implementation of fundraising events and volunteer engagement activities.
  • Maintain records related to event participation, revenue and outcomes.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting on communications metrics and engagement data.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in nonprofit development, fundraising or related administrative work.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and fundraising best practices. Raiser's Edge experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet work deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to relationship-based fundraising and is mission-driven.
