Looking to launch a career in nonprofit fundraising? Join the CCARโ€™s Advancement team and gain hands-on experience in donor relations, communications, events, and fundraising strategy while helping strengthen Reform Judaism.

 

Position Summary:

The Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) is seeking a Development Assistant to join our Advancement team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or development.


As a key member of the team, youโ€™ll support fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, communications, and special events while working alongside experienced development professionals. Youโ€™ll gain hands-on experience across all aspects of fundraising and play an important role in advancing the mission of the CCAR and strengthening Reform Judaism.


What Youโ€™ll Do:

ADMINISTRATIVE & OPERATIONS

Support the day-to-day operations of the Development Department by coordinating calendars, preparing correspondence, managing committee meetings, tracking projects, and helping fundraising initiatives stay on schedule.


Youโ€™ll bring:

DONOR & DATABASE MANAGEMENT

Maintain donor records, process gifts and acknowledgements, generate reports, and help ensure donors receive thoughtful stewardship.

ยท      Comfort learning database systems (Salesforce experience is a plus)

ยท      Accuracy, discretion, and analytical thinking


COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS

Help create engaging donor experiences by coordinating events, preparing communications, managing email campaigns, and supporting sponsorships and fundraising materials.

Desired Qualifications

ยท      Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience

ยท      One or two years of administrative, communications, customer service, or nonprofit experience (internships welcome)

ยท      Excellent organizational and communications skills

ยท      Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce and Constant Contact is a plus

ยท      Collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
