Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Position- must live in Charlotte or surrounding area)


About YBLA

For nearly 20 years, YBLA has been committed to developing and empowering the next generation of Black leaders through leadership development, coaching, education, service, and global experiences. Through a comprehensive leadership pipeline that serves high school students, college students, and young professionals, YBLA equips emerging leaders with the skills, relationships, and opportunities needed to drive positive change in their communities and advance economic mobility.


We are seeking a passionate and driven Development Director to help expand YBLAs impact by strengthening donor relationships, increasing fundraising efforts, and supporting the long-term sustainability of our programs.


Position Summary

The Development Director will play a critical role in increasing individual and recurring donations, managing donor relationships and data, and supporting fundraising initiatives that sustain and grow YBLAs programs. This position requires an experienced professional who is proactive, organized, relationship-driven, and possesses excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a proven track record in fundraising and donor development.


Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Donor Development

  • Develop strategies to increase YBLAs individual and recurring donations
  • Lead and manage fundraising campaigns that support YBLAs programs and initiatives
  • Supervise and support team members involved in fundraising and donor engagement efforts
  • Meet with sponsors and donors to cultivate relationships and secure financial support
  • Conduct research on prospective donors and sponsors to expand YBLAs funding base
  • Develop and implement a donor stewardship program to strengthen long-term engagement and retention
  • Execute special projects that support YBLAs growth and long-term sustainability


Donor Management & Administration

  • Oversee donor data management and maintain accurate records in YBLAs databases
  • Process and track donations received electronically and by check
  • Schedule meetings, document notes and action items, and ensure timely follow-up


Event & Community Engagement

  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising and program-related events
  • Attend community events and networking functions to increase awareness and support for YBLA
  • Provide support to the marketing and programming teams as needed


Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of YBLAs mission and organizational goals


Qualifications
