National Account Executive
At Buchanan Hauling & Rigging, we're constantly looking for talented individuals at all levels who can deliver the caliber of service our company requires. The purpose of the National Account Executive position is to generate growth by engaging in lead generating activities, qualifying & connecting with prospects to ask for contracted freight opportunities. National Account Executives will make first contact with a prospect, sell Buchanan Logistics' capabilities and strong service position, collaborate with the Account Manager/Site Director to build bids and track to close the business. Once the prospect is converted to a customer, the customer is then transferred to the Account Manager/Site Director who can begin managing the account and growing Buchanan's relationship and percentage of the customer's freight business. As a key member of the sales team, the National Account Executive is charged with promoting the Buchanan Values of Determination, Integrity, Safety, and Community.

What You'll Do On a Typical Day
  • Identifying leads, prospect to quote the customer, schedule call/video meeting or in-person meeting to sell Buchanan Logistics solutions on all modes of transportation, track and close the business.
  • Close collaboration with Account Manager/Site Director to generate the quotation.
  • Once an order is received, proper hand-off of the customer to the Account Manager/Site Director to have additional correspondence about additional contracted freight opportunities.
  • Prospect activities must be completed each day. Activities can include email, phone calls, video meeting (Microsoft Teams), in-person meeting, etc.
  • Goal of 1 new customers/month
  • Maintains a culture of day-to-day diligent "hunting" mentality approach for new business lead generation.
  • Keep CRM updated.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years trucking experience required.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals.
  • Skilled in customer service and client retention strategies.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, sales automation tools, and other relevant technologies.
