Position Overview

We are seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Medical Front Office Coordinator to join our Internal Medicine and Dialysis Clinic in Stockbridge, Georgia.

The ideal candidate must have previous medical front office experience and hands-on experience using an EMR/EHR system. Experience working in a dialysis, nephrology, internal medicine, or other specialty medical setting is strongly preferred.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working in a busy clinical environment and can efficiently manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, check-in/check-out, and front-office operations while providing compassionate service to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet dialysis and medical patients in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
  • Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility.
  • Collect copays, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls and patient inquiries.
  • Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and diagnostic appointments.
  • Obtain and update patient information and insurance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR/EHR system.
  • Assist with obtaining medical records from outside providers and dialysis facilities.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, pharmacies, laboratories, dialysis facilities, and other healthcare organizations as needed.
  • Monitor referral and authorization status and follow up when necessary.
  • Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, referrals, insurance, and billing.
  • Coordinate front-office activities to support smooth patient flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-desk environment.
  • Follow HIPAA privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Work closely with clinical, dialysis, and billing staff.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous medical front office experience required.
  • Hands-on EMR/EHR experience required.
  • Experience working in a medical clinic required.
  • Strong knowledge of patient scheduling and check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Experience with insurance verification and eligibility.
  • Experience collecting copays and patient balances.
  • Experience with referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Dialysis clinic experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Internal Medicine or Nephrology preferred.
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans.
  • Experience obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience coordinating referrals and specialty appointments.
  • Experience working with patients with chronic medical conditions.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
