Job description

Description:

Superior Metal Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shift Team Lead at our aluminum finishing company. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in manufacturing, production and leadership. The Team Leader will oversee operations during the shift ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. Our Anodize/Paint shift department works Monday to Friday, the ideal candidate would be able to train on first shift for few weeks if interested to work on 2nd or 3rd shift. 


1st Shift Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm (may need to stay over time to time and OT on Saturday as needed)


2nd Shift Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm (may need to stay after or come earlier time to time and OT on Saturday as needed)


3rd Shift Sunday to Thursday 10pm to 6am (may need to stay after or come earlier time to time) 

Requirements:

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide, supervise and coordinate daily schedule to employees
  • Maintain adequate manpower for anodize department 
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of work, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain quality standards
  • Racking, unracking, operator and small parts paperwork completed
  • Rack request prior to jobs being manufactured 
  • Trouble shooting any anodize issues
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of work, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain quality standards
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members, providing coaching and feedback to enhance their skills and efficiency
  • Maintain key point indicators (KPI's) on the anodize line 
  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance schedules 
  • Act as a point of contact for team members, addressing any issues or concerns that arise during the shift 
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication
  • Participate in Safety meetings and ensure all team members comply with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associates degree in a related field is a plus
  • Must speak, write, understand, read English & Spanish
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal finishing or a related industry
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of metal finishing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Proficient in using computers and common software applications; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
  • Flexibility to train on 1st shift, and/or weekends, Overtime if needed 

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate and inspect machinery and metal pieces
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100lbs., to position metal objects to begin and finish treatment processes and/or prepare for shipping
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to position self to move metal objects for treatment or packing 
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Must be able to detect slight differences in various finishes 
  • Communicate verbally with coworkers about safety, discrepancy, or variety of other work issues 
  • Tolerate working in an environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season and will expose you to loud sounds, dust, fumes and solvents

Candidates must be 18 years or older, and willing and able to pass a drug and alcohol test at any given time
