Global Job Description

Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals is hiring a Manufacturing Project Engineer. This Project Engineer owns, identifies, executes, tracks and reports the Operational Excellence program for the site. The Project Engineer is a key resource in the LEAN manufacturing process for the plant. Other projects such as sustainability and innovation will rely on support from this position. These projects will utilize strong communication, technical, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead OpEx projects for improvements to manufacturing capabilities and processes.

  • Identify OpEx savings and help initiate projects.

  • Optimize manufacturing space by reviewing product flow and plant layouts using LEAN principles.

  • Report OpEx results to senior management both on and off site.

  • Participate in and/or lead LEAN, process improvement teams and other small project technical teams.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to make most efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.

  • Support process for identifying root causes and implement corrective actions for production problems and develop re-work instructions as needed.

  • Participate in and/or lead process improvement teams and other small project technical teams.

  • Manage process documentation, including work instructions, safety documentation, etc.

  • Support the training of manufacturing staff and provide them with work instructions and manuals.

Qualifications:
  • Education: BS in Process, Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, related engineering fields or 5-years' experience in manufacturing.

  • OpEx program management.

  • High attention to detail and organization.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to solve complex technical problems.

  • Able to manage and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Must meet ITAR requirements or have the ability to obtain an Export License

  • Some travel, both domestic and international may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.

  • Formal LEAN training and experience.

  • Expertise with engineering software.

  • Experience in powdered metal manufacturing.
