Job description

Overview
Lutron Electronics is seeking a Senior Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team in Humacao, Puerto Rico. This leadership role is responsible for driving production performance and ensuring operational excellence across assigned manufacturing areas.
 
In this position, you will lead and develop production teams while executing plant goals and objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
 
The Senior Production Supervisor is accountable for planning, coordinating, and optimizing people, materials, and processes to ensure products are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and operate within budget, while supporting continuous improvement across the production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop production teams to achieve key performance objectives, including safety, people development, execution to schedule (ETS), quality, scrap reduction, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop production team members, including setting performance expectations, conducting regular feedback discussions, and supporting individual growth and skill development.
  • Create and sustain a strong safetyfirst culture by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, conducting regular safety talks, addressing hazards, and promoting proactive risk identification.
  • Drive quality excellence by ensuring adherence to standard work, investigating production or quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities, manpower allocation, and material flow to meet customer demand and production schedules.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and take timely action to address gaps, escalate risks, and drive improvement.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment that encourages accountability, engagement, and teamwork.
  • Lead and participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S activities, waste reduction, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, and other functional teams to support production readiness, process improvements, and operational stability.
  • Support change management efforts related to new products, processes, equipment, or systems, ensuring smooth implementation on the production floor.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and labor regulations while maintaining discipline, fairness, and consistency.
  • Actively contribute to plantwide objectives and initiatives, supporting longterm operational excellence and business growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 OR 10 years of professional experience post academics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production supervisory or manufacturing leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, coaching and developing employees, managing production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of production planning, execution to schedule, and operational performance management.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen and 5S, preferred.
  • Proven organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
