Job description

Metalex powered by UPG is looking for a Production Supervisor for our Libertyville facility. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the stamping department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role involves coordinating personnel, managing workflow, maintaining equipment readiness, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of stamping processes, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Position Requirements

· 5+ years in Steel Operations background.

· 3+ years’ experience in fast-paced production operations and management, order fulfillment, and inventory management.

· 1+ years’ experience as a leader/manager.

  • Bilingual in Spanish, highly preferred but not required

· Strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and shipping operations methods and practices.

· Excellent communication skills, fluent in both English and Spanish is preferable.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Inventory (SAP) software.

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize, and delegate.

· Strict attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

· Responsible, ethical, honest, positive, upbeat, and approachable.

· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.

· Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement training

Schedule:

5:30 AM to 2:30 PM - Monday through Friday
