Job description

Controller – Elkhart, Indiana

Salary Range: $120,000 – $135,000 annually
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Environment: 100% On-Site

A growing and well-established manufacturing organization in the Elkhart area is seeking a Controller to lead and support the company’s accounting operations. This role will work closely with leadership and play a critical part in overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, and key accounting functions while supporting the organization during a period of rapid growth.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, leadership within the accounting function, and the ability to navigate financial processes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Perform financial statement analysis and provide insights on monthly performance.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.

  • Support sales and use tax and property tax processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

  • Reconcile key accounts and oversee the accuracy of financial records within the general ledger.

  • Produce and analyze weekly financial and inventory reporting, including scrap reporting and cycle count analysis.

  • Generate and summarize reports from the ERP system, exporting data into Excel for analysis and leadership reporting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • Several years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.

  • Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and data analysis functions.

  • Experience working in manufacturing or inventory-based environments preferred.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and communicate insights to leadership.
