Job description

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Recreation Division; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Naval Base Point Loma. Incumbent is responsible for the management, administration, operation and utilization of Marina and Recreational Lodging Facilities.Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of boating terminology, watercraft operation and maintenance, water and boating safety, handling of boats (e.g., launching, mooring, etc.), boating equipment and facilities, and recreational boating activities.
  • Knowledge of how to operate a business, such as setting costs, mark-up/mark-down procedures for resale, and disposal of surplus or non-usable material.
  • Knowledge of military MWR and/or NAF procurement, personnel, and funding.
  • Knowledge of NAF budgeting and activity level financial management.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of CNIC's EEO policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with subordinates, supervisory and management officials and patrons.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and site-specific software.
  • Ability and knowledge to provide a sailing instruction program.
  • Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training.
  • Ability to perform the full-range of supervisory duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
