Job description

Trainer – Job Description:

We are currently seeking 2-4 Trainers to support the implementation and delivery of training for the State of Hawaii’s Eligibility System. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with training, facilitation, teaching, or instructional experience who enjoy working with diverse audiences and delivering engaging learning experiences.

Position Summary

The Trainer will be responsible for delivering training programs to the State of Hawaii’s employees and other stakeholders related to the Eligibility System. While most training materials have already been developed, the selected individuals will review, organize, and prepare training content, develop or refine facilitator scripts as needed, and conduct training sessions primarily in a virtual environment. This role requires strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, along with the ability to effectively engage learners and ensure successful knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instructor-led training sessions to state employees and external stakeholders.
  • Review, organize, and prepare existing training materials for effective delivery.
  • Develop, modify, or gather facilitator guides and presentation scripts as needed.
  • Facilitate primarily virtual training sessions while maintaining participant engagement.
  • Partner with the Training Team to support training strategy, planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in occasional in-person meetings, collaboration sessions, and planning activities.
  • Respond to learner questions and provide guidance regarding training content and system processes.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of training, facilitation, teaching, coaching, or instructional experience in any industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups in both virtual and in-person environments.
  • Highly organized with the ability to review and prepare training materials independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience with virtual learning platforms is preferred.
  • Must be located on Oahu and available to attend occasional in-person meetings and training sessions.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an engaging communicator with prior experience delivering training, facilitating workshops, teaching, onboarding employees, or leading instructional sessions. Individuals with 1-3 years of training experience who are comfortable presenting to groups and can quickly learn and deliver new content are encouraged to apply.

This is a Contract position based out of Honolulu, HI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
